Jeu de piste! - Keep the track!

Trop facile…

It's like that famous drink that "looks like alcohol, has the colour of alcohol, a name that sounds like a name of alcohol… but  is not alcohol!"

This JTR42 CWR (Class 66), whose issue n° 66026 is pictured here in Berre l'Etang, hauling a train of tarpaulin wagons, has all the characteristics to identify for sure an "English" machine.. Too much easy ...

In fact, it is a bit more complicated ... Well, try to follow… The machine belongs to the French company ECR (Euro Cargo Rail) which became a subsidiary of DB Schenker Rail Group located in the United Kingdom when its German parent company, the Deutsche Bahn has acquired the British company EWS (English Welsh & Scottish rail), itself at this time a subsidiary of the American company Wisconsin Central which, in the meantime, had been sold to Canadian National. Isn't it simple?

And what about the machine? Well, it was built in London… not in England ... but in Ontario, Canada ... by EMD, Electro-Motive Division of General Motors ... Yes, our "English lady" has a strong American accent! ...

It should be noted however that the only significant sign that remains ... is the logo EWS! The British are really clever guys...
